10 Super Sweet Gift Ideas for Teachers

Well it is the time of year to start thinking about gifts for our kiddies teachers, and if you are anything like me, I am usually stumped as to what to give them. So in an effort to get a little bit of a jump on things this year, here are few ideas I found while out and about perusing the Internet that I thought I'd share with you.

This first idea is the perfect gift for any gardener. It's simply a painted terra cotta pot with the saucer as its lid, and a cute little trowel tied on with decorative ribbon. You could even place inside it seed packets and/or a gift card from Lowes, Home Depot or your local nursery.

For the Tea Lover
Some teachers don’t go anywhere without their cup of tea. For them, I’d always get some sort of tea assortment to add to their collection. My favorite is Kusmi Afternoon Tea Collection because of the unique blends you rarely see anywhere else (Spicy Chocolate!). Plus, it comes with an infuser. -- Michelle Toglia

The All About You Challenge!

My good friend Dee Dee from ddzine blog tagged me in this fun little game so we all can get to know each other a wee bit better.

The All About You Blog Challenge

consists of 10 questions!

1. What is a secret no one knows about you?

Tough one to start off with so let me think. Very few people knew if at all remembered that I once auditioned on a dare from a good friend for a popular Philadelphia T.V. show "Evening Magazine" as an "Evening Magazine" dancer. One of the audition judges was none other than the great Maurice Hines, brother of the legendary Gregory Hines.  And no I didn't get selected...I was actually out after the first round but I loved every minute of it!

2. What is one of your greatest loves?

Dancing...I take after my mother and I love dancing...all types of dancing. It's the one thing I have pure confidence in doing!

3. What is one of your greatest fears?

Open heights...I'm OK with planes, helicopters, glass elevators, but nothing open.

4. What is your deepest wish?

Someone would finally find a cure for Cancer.

5. Where would you live if you could live anywhere?

Somewhere in the New England states close to the water.
There or in Dee Dee's house!

6. What is your favorite food?

A perfectly cooked fillet Mignon or salmon fillet with a to-die-for sauce or crust.

7. What is your favorite book?

Well I wish I was but I am not a huge reader. However one of the books I've picked up and just couldn't  put down was...
The Five people You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Alboom

8. What is your favorite movie?

It's a Wonderful Life

Meet Joe Black

Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Breakfast Club

9. What is your favorite song?

I like songs you can dance to so in my opinion
"Thriller" is the greatest song ever recorded!

10. Post a picture of yourself

Bacon and Egg Cupcakes

I saw a picture of these floating around on Facebook today and I just knew I had to make them. Fortunately I had half a pack of bacon in the freezer and a few eggs still hanging around from Easter.

Copycat Chalkboard Herb Pots

The other day I was in Crate & Barrel looking for a bridal shower gift when I came across this cute little herb pot with saucer for $9.95...

...and it got me to thinking. "Why I could make something like that for far less than $10." So I headed to Michael's craft store to pick up a few Terra Cotta pots.

I painted the pots white leaving the inside of both the pot and saucer the original color. Afterwards I taped off the area I was going to make the chalkboard and sprayed it with the chalkboard paint.

I had to try a few times because I tend to be heavy handed with regard to paint, and I had a few drips the first time around. But then I got it right and I only had to do a little bit of touch up with my white craft paint.

Here are my finished pots!

All 3 pots cost me less than $10!
