A Super Read by One of Our Fellow Bloggers

Hey everyone how have you all been doing? Enjoying the beginning of a fun packed summer I hope. Well here at Rosemary Lane we are in full summer mode and that includes, at least for me, a super summertime read. I am sure many of you know our dear friend Diana of the wonderfully witty, and often times downright side-splitting blog, Nana Diana Takes a Break. Well Diana has written a book "The Mystery of Lucy and the Dark Woods" and my copy just arrived yesterday afternoon!

I haven't had the chance to begin reading it yet but from what I have read and heard this story is sure to be one I won't be able to put down. The book is currently available through Diana's Esty shop as well as Amazon.

But I did crack the book open just to peruse through some of the pages and look at what was written just inside the front cover...

...you are such a sweetheart my friend.

I am really looking forward to getting into the Mystery of  Lucy and the adventures she encounters throughout the book.
Also I want to add a special thank you to Diana for getting her beautiful book to me so dang fast!

Please don't forget to stop by tomorrow evening at 7pm for our 20th SYS link party...

...and to have a great day!!

Share Your Style Link Party #19

Hi everyone and welcome back to another Share Your Style link up party! This week your party hostess is me, Barbara from 21 Rosemary Lane, and I am absolutely thrilled to be here hosting. Remember there are 7 other blogs also hosting this party so when you link up with one host you will be linking with all 8 of us from the Share Your Style team!!

Myself and our little family are spending a few lovely days relaxing at the beach enjoying the surf and sun, so there was plenty of time for me to sit and peruse through all of your fabulous links from last week's SYS party.

This week I am coming to you

Well summer is off and running and so is the incredible amount of inspiration from all who linked up to SYS #18. There was an amazing number of creative DIY projects, room makeovers, recipes, fun ideas and much more from last week's party, that I really had a tough time narrowing down just what to highlight. So without further ado, here are a few links I hope you will enjoy checking out!

From Beyond the Portico Sheila shared some tips on how she created this darling throw pillow for her screened in porch.

The Curator's Collection revived two gorgeous 1920's chairs with MMS Milk paint and a grain sack striped upholstered seat cover for a romantic shabby look.

Another chair makeover came from A Stroll Thru Life. Marty was brave enough to remove the rush seats from two of her beautiful 1972 dining room chairs and replaced them with stunning new seat cushions. She gives a wonderful step by step tutorial on just how to achieve this look.

Michele from The Joyful Home shared her sister's stylish formal living room of which she helped to decorate with some of these beautiful elements.

Back Porch Musings enjoyed a delicious scoop of French vanilla ice cream with a fresh strawberry and some milk chocolate pretzel bark, all in a pretty yard sale glass. Now how simple yet elegant does that look?

And finally Julie from A Little Farmstead shared the most adorable old fashion baseball themed birthday party for her 6 year old son.

Complete with hot dogs, Coca-Cola, the cutest party favors you ever saw, a rousing game of baseball and even a Babe Ruth cardboard cut-out to help welcome guests to the party.

If your link was featured this week please make sure to take our "Featured My Style" button to proudly display on your blog.

Now on with this week's party. Please remember to have a link back to one of our 8 hosts and to be a bit of a social butterfly by visiting some of the other party goers!

XO

Summer Begins and We are at the Beach!

This week we begin the glorious season of summer, and believe me when I say our kids are more than ready for it to be here! They just had their last day of school on Friday and it is a well deserved treat to be able to spend some time at the BEACH!

Last year my dear friend Donna purchased a darling beach house bungalow at the Jersey shore and was gracious enough to allow us some time down here to relax and enjoy the wonderful ocean air.

An evening walk on the beach was exactly what our family needed after all of the activities surrounding the end of the school year. Now I ask you what is more soothing than roaming the beach looking for some interesting shells and watching the family dog dip his toes in the mighty ocean?

Our Gracie found this interesting collection of teeny tiny shells in the surf which was connected to a piece of what looked like reed. Whatever was inside these little shells was still alive.

Michael found some seaweed that had little pockets filled with air that he could be popped. Kind of like God's version of bubble wrap.

The calm of the shore...

...and boats waiting to be reunited with the sea.

Wishing you all a very happy first day of Summer!!!

XO

Product Review: Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant Toothpaste Toothbursh and Mouthwash

Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all!
Today I'd like to share with you a review on a few products by Arm & Hammer. Arm & Hammer is a name which I have been familiar with my entire life, however to be honest I have never tried any of their oral hygiene products. Then I was given the opportunity by Smiley 360 to test Arm & Hammer's new product line #TrulyRadiant which promises a whiter smile in just 5 days.

I received by mail a Truly Radiant oral care kit which included a spinbrush, whitening toothpaste and their whitening and strengthening mouth rinse. I used the products for 5 days doing my regular 3 to 4 brushings per day.

The Rejuvenating Toothpaste
Features crisp mint flavor, whitens teeth and strengthens, cleans and repair tooth enamel.

The toothpaste is one product I would definitely purchase again. I liked the amount of mint flavor of the toothpaste and the fact that my mouth really felt fresh and clean after brushing. I also thought it had just the right amount of foaming action while I was brushing my teeth. I kind of expected maybe somewhat of a gritty texture since I know the product contains baking soda, but that was not the case. There was no difference in texture as compared to other toothpastes I have used in the past.

The Spinbrush
Features both manual rotating and elongated bristles to help blast away plaque and clean hard-to-reach places.

I did like the toothbrush for two very distinct reasons. Number one I like the fact that the brush's bristles are a little bit longer than the regular toothbrush I typically get from the dentist. And number two I really liked the firmness of the brush. It felt like it was cleaning my teeth as opposed to some brushes that are too soft and feel like they are just wiping over my teeth. Or in the case of too firm a brush which ends up causing my gums to bleed. As far as the spin action I couldn't really feel it or see it, so it is hard to say if it made any difference in being an extra feature to the toothbrush.

The Whitening and Strengthening Mouthwash
Designed to whiten teeth, strengthen enamel and prevent stains without alcohol or peroxide.

The mouthwash was nice but it didn't leave a sensation in my mouth quite as refreshing as the toothpaste, but it did last for awhile longer than other washes I have used. And I do like the fact that it is both alcohol and hydrogen peroxide free.

Overall Opinion
After using the Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant products for 5 days I did feel as if my smile had brightened up. I have had my teeth professionally whitened in the past and I feel that out of all the other OTC (over-the-counter) teeth brightening products I have used, the Arm & Hamer Truly Radiant line of products overall produced the best results.
XO
