Can you believe that Memorial Day weekend is only a little over a week away? Where has the time gone??? Well for me holidays equal making a craft and this time it is an Americana inspired burlap wreath. The inspiration came when I found this cute berry and star floral stems at a local gift shop called The Keeping Room.
I then found a flag print ribbon at Hobby Lobby when I was there last week. They also had a ton of colored burlap and burlap with prints.
This time I made the wreath using a wire form instead of a wire hanger.
Then the burlap was folded in half and just woven and looped through the wire form. After you loop the burlap, open up the folds.
The ribbon was looped through the same way only not folded. I made a bow and poked in my floral stems and then anchored them to the wire form by wrapping the wire part of the stems around the form.
And voila...my patriotic wreath is done!
Wishing you all a super day!!!

Barbara, this is a lovely wreath. I think I'm going to try to make one of these. Wish me luck. I'm not so crafty.
ReplyDeleteYour wreath is beautiful! You make it seem so easy and fun to make. I have got to make a burlap wreath. They are so transitional - just change the ribbon for a different occasion. Thanks for the great tutorial!
