Oh my oh Christmas Tree how lovely your branches truly are! But it's the truth isn't it? To me every Christmas tree is just lovely, even poor Charlie Brown's tree with it's single red Christmas ball was still as lovely as can be! This year though I really switched things up because of the changes I made to the living room over the past few months. And no you haven't missed any reveal...that will happen one week from today when I share with you my living room and entry as part of the Open House blog hop being hosted by Sherry from the beautiful blog No Minimalist Here. So this is a little sneaky peaky for you all as I present our 2014 Christmas Tree!!!
The first thing our tree received was a new topper! I found this jeweled crown over at Hob Lobs this week. Just look at its pretty orange jewels. I think she (our tree) likes her new crown.
She was also the recipient of some new glass Christmas balls in a burnt orange. I thought it would be a nice compliment to all the new splashes of turquoise added to the room.
Instead of the rolls of burlap I used as garland the last 2 years, I decided on white and brown deco mesh and streamed it from the top to the bottom. The mesh was looped and then criss-crossed at different points all the way down . Some faux white and blue hydrangea stems are tucked in all about the tree.
More Christmas balls in lime green, turquoise blue, white, gold and silver in varying sizes, shapes and finishes were added to fill up her lovely branches. I also have added the beautiful wedding ornaments we received as a wedding gift from my dear high school friend Mary, and her dashing husband Richard. These ornaments have adorned our tree every year since our first Christmas together 12 years ago!
And here she is at night with our kitty Moe sound asleep under her. I wish it was possible for the camera lens to catch what the human eye can see because this picture just doesn't do her justice!
And that my friends is our 2014 Christmas tree.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and don't forget the fabulous blog hop which begins next Wednesday December 10th with these first four super talented bloggers.
Then on Thursday December 11th these incredible blogs will be featured.
And on Friday December 12th the hop wraps up with the talents of these 4 blogs!
Hope to see you at the hop!
