Pretty Spring Rain Boot Wreath

Finally it's here, the long awaited season of Spring! Whoo hoo!!!

So to help celebrate Spring's return, today I am going to share with you an idea I had to add a little pizzazz to a Michael's Craft store wreath I purchased many many moons ago.

Now I have seen both wreaths and rain boots hung as front door decor, but never the two together! So I decided to use a pair of Grace's much loved rubber rain boots from when she was just a little girl, and add them to the look of my spring wreath.

This is Grace at age 4 sporting her spring ensemble which included her little yellow rain boots. (I love how nothing in the outfit matches except for the two boots.)

Using good old fashion floral wire, I just threaded it through the loops of the boots and then wired them to the wreath.

A pretty green burlap bow was then added to finish it off!

Don't those bright yellow boots really make the entire wreath pop?

I think Moe likes it too!
Happy Spring everyone, and have a great weekend!!!

Share Your Style Link party #5

Well it is beginning to feel more and more like spring around these parts. The snow is finally almost completely melted, the daffodil shoots are pushing up through the earth, and I can hear the birds chirping as we  are all loving the much longer days!

Even our Moe is enjoying an afternoon snooze in the warm early spring sun.

This past week has been a busy one for me since I have delved head first into my home office makeover project.

I also shared a tutorial on making your own spring planter using a colander, over at my good friend Marty's blog
A Stroll Thru Life

And now on to the party with this week's host Kelly from the gorgeous blog
The Essence of Home.

Hello!  Welcome to the 5th weekly Share Your Style party!  My name is, Kelly.  I blog at The Essence of Home and I am your host this week.  I hope you will stop by my blog and check it out if you haven't already.  I love decorating in both Swedish and Country French styles. I have been blogging for many years and share decorating ideas, recipes, shopping excursions, gardening and some of my family life as well.  I'm so glad that you decided to join us this week.

The great thing about linking up to this party is that your link will be shared on 8 blogs at one time!  So, you get great exposure for your blog.  Look at all these blogs that your one link will be shared on.

It was so much fun to look at everyone's links from last week's party.  Here are just a few that I wanted to feature today.

Rowhouse Blog shared some beautiful mantels on display in Nell Hill's store.  They gave me some great inspiration for some different looks.

The 2 Seasons gave a tutorial on how to make custom designer style pillows inexpensively.  I would love to own a sewing machine so I could do this!  One day, I will get up the nerve to buy one and try this myself.

Buckets of Burlap showed how you can "think outside the box" by using a crate as a coffee table!  Her home is so charming in a country farmhouse style.  Go check it out.

Chatfield Court shared a yummy recipe for easy banana bread with something special added!  Chocolate chips!  I think I will give this a try.  I always seem to have too many over ripe bananas left over so this will be a good way to use them up.

If your post was featured, please grab this button below and copy and paste it in the sidebar of your blog!

Thank you to each and every one of you for participating in this weekly party.  It would not be a success without all of you!  I look forward to seeing all of your new inspirations this week.

Progress in the Home Office

Well our home office makeover is now in full swing. I have started painting the old paneling in my favorite shade of white, Ben Moore's Navajo White, and OMGosh it is already making the room feel larger, brighter and definitely more crisp.

Here is the sad looking "Before" shot...

And now that the old love seat is gone, I brought in the Ikea shelving unit we already had in another room. I do plan to purchase a few of Ikea's wicker bins that fit into the cubicals. The wine rack is gone as well, but not the wine!!!

You know I really love the look of painted paneling, it has kind of a rustic vibe, so as I was painting I started to think of what type of artwork I'd like to display in this space. We live in horse and farm country so I thought about giving the office a bit of a country feel. Then I remembered this painting I bought a few years back up at the flea and antique market in Brimfield Massachusetts.

The artist paints on reclaimed shutters, this one was from an old barn. Here she is with the piece she sold to me at her booth up in Brimfield.

Talented isn't she? I did have her card at one point but now I have no idea where it is. All I can tell you is that the piece is signed by A CLOUD.
But I have to tell you that paining this paneling is taking longer that I thought. Even though it has been painted at least twice before, that old wood is just sucking up the paint. I am pretty much putting on 3 coats of the Navajo White.

The furniture placement is not set in stone yet due to the fact that I am still editing pieces out.

All in all it is coming along and I think this room is going to be a great space for me and Mr. Rosemary Lane to work.

What projects are you currently working on now that the weather is getting nicer?

Hope your week is off to a great start!
And don't forget to stop by tomorrow evening to link up your latest to the Share Your Style link party!

Also, beginning Monday March 23, your SYS hosts are doing a spring blog hop. And then next Wednesday evening stop and link up your spring projects, both old and new!!

Tootles!!!
