Kicking Around the Color Blue for My Dining Room

House Beautiful

I am done with the red and am ready for a change in our dining room. So this afternoon I've been hopping around between Pinterest and Google Images collecting pictures to get some idea of where I'd like to go with this thought of blue.

We do have a chair rail in the space so I could go two toned on the walls.

Our furniture is cherry wood. I'd probably go with more of a colonial blue.

Look at the ceiling in this next pic...isn't it gorgeous?

To me his next room to me is very Ralph Lauren. I suppose it is because of the bold blue and white stripes on the chair along with the huge horse pic on the wall. Notice the different tones of blue on the wall above the chair rail?

This next room just caught my eye, it's so fun and funky. I find the blue color on the walls very striking.

Ahhh some food for thought over the weekend!
Hope you all enjoy a fabulous one!!!

  4. Barbara, those are all gorgeous! I can tell you I went from red to blue and LOVE it. It is an aqua kind of color medium tone and I did the kitchen and dining since they are open and really do love it. Plus, anything there is so much white out there that I wanted something different. I'm sure you'll pick something beautiful!!

  7. I'm done with the red in my kitchen, but *eek* I was flipping channels and caught a pretty color in a kitchen on Food Network. it is a strong variety of. Color I never thought I'd even think of in my house.... purple! I am afraid to use it, but especially because I am afraid that if it scares me too much I will wind up with Chalkboard black eggshell. It's a possibility!
