Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend!
It has been crazy busy around here over the past week, so I thought I'd take a moment to get y'all caught up on what has been going on at 21 Rosemary Lane.
To start...
the beginning of last week Grace had a lacrosse game and they won. Yeah!!!
I created this fun faux magazine cover using a pic from the game and my favorite editing site PicMonkey.
Then on Wednesday Grace had her spring orchestra and band concert.
Ice cream after the concert topped off the perfect end to a lovely May evening of music .
Also last week I started my next furniture project for the guest bedroom makeover. This is a piece I purchased along with a coordinating mirror about 3 years ago at a yard sale down in Pa. I knew at some point I would be changing the one bedroom on our main floor from the kids playroom back into what it was originally meant to be, a bedroom.
I am this far with the project...
...and still plugging along.
Also, over the holiday weekend Mr. RL, the kids and I went down to the shore as my dear friend Donna and her hubby just purchased their dream beach home in Brigantine New Jersey.
Darling little bungalow isn't it? Here is the view from her back windows.
We spent a majority of our time painting, putting together a loft bed and grill, and made about a half dozen trips to Lowes and Home Depot.
But we did have some time to soak in the beauty of the sea shore...
and catch a sunset.
The previous owners of the home left a lot of furnishings, including two twin beds in the mix. I really wanted twin beds for the bedroom make over, so guess what I inherited...yup twin beds WITH...headboards.
I am going to paint them to match the dresser.
This is my inspiration room, I love the dark color of the headboards against the mint color walls.
So that is pretty much it!
Tomorrow I hope to be headed for the Mansion in May tour at the Blairsden Mansion in Peapack New Jersey.
I will share that with you later on in the week.
Hope you are all recovering well from the big kick-off weekend of the summer season, and wishing you a supercalafragilistic week!
XO
Pictures of the shore are amazing, sounds like a fabulous weekend, and the guest room is going to be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the magazine cover with your daughters name I did a double take. My maiden name was Gracey and my married name is Currant - so just missing two letters :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!

Beautiful photos of the shore, Barbara! What a relaxing retreat! You really have been one busy lady! Love the sneak peek of the dresser; and the twin beds will look great. Can't wait to see you work your magic!
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE been busy, Barbara! Love your "magazine cover". Congrats to your girl. What a neat cottage your friends bought. Love the view...and lucky you to get those headboards. I love your inspiration room, too.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me you aren't going to stencil the ceiling in there- I don't think I can stand for you to do all that much work (again)-lol
Have a great week- xo Diana
Barbara what a gorgeous piece and I can't wait to see it finished. The faux magazine cover is so clever and I'm sure your daughter really appreciated it. I love going to the Jersey shore.
