A common trend I have been seeing around blog land recently has been to use old wood shutters as decor for the interior of a home. This is an idea I think is absolutely brilliant! The concept adds much in the way of architectural detail to a space on a rather slim dime and with little to no skill needed. As for me, I have struggled for years as to what to put the the long almost 15 foot blank wall behind my sofa in the living room. I've tossed around and even tried a few ideas but never really liking what I had done and ended up changing the wall's look again. I think re-purposed shutters just may be the way to go to resolve my living room wall dilemma.
Take a look at some of the beautiful ways shutters and louver doors have been incorporated into the decor of a given space.
