Over the Christmas holidays I received paperwhite bulbs as a hostess gift. I was so excited because I have seen them all over the blogosphere and have always admired their beauty. Now I had my own bulbs to plant.
They took about a good three weeks to begin to bloom and as of today they are still blooming!
Aren't they delicate looking?
So nice to see blooming flowers in the dead of winter!
Hope you are staying nice and warm!
Have a great day!!!
XO

I saw your feature at Junk Chic Cottage. Your are such a great designed. I am so happy for you and your sweet family. My daughter and son-in-law waited 7 years to have a baby. She's a miracle. What a precious pair!
ReplyDeleteYour paper whites are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am visiting via Junk Chic Cottage and I enjoyed reading your story. I too now have a love of photography due to blogging. My photos are so much better now - I also use a Canon - than when I began blogging. I'd love to go back an retake all my early photos that are so bad in comparison with my skills today. I still have a lot to learn.
Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you for sharing your style and your life story. Life is not easy but you really made lemonade out the lemons that were thrown at you. You have a beautiful family. XX Jo

These paperwhites are such a lovely reminder of the beauty of Spring. I have been gifted paperwhites several times and have found that when they are blooming at their peak, the foliage has a tendency to fall over, I have tried various supports but the supports either look ugly or don't work. How did you keep both the foliage and blooms so nice and erect?
ReplyDeleteI had to keep turning the container as they tend to grow and lean towards a natural light source. I have a huge bay window in my lining room so that is the direction in which they would lean. So if i rotated the pot 180 they would begin to start growing the opposite direction and straighten themselves up.
