Pretty Spring Rain Boot Wreath

Finally it's here, the long awaited season of Spring! Whoo hoo!!!

So to help celebrate Spring's return, today I am going to share with you an idea I had to add a little pizzazz to a Michael's Craft store wreath I purchased many many moons ago.

Now I have seen both wreaths and rain boots hung as front door decor, but never the two together! So I decided to use a pair of Grace's much loved rubber rain boots from when she was just a little girl, and add them to the look of my spring wreath.

This is Grace at age 4 sporting her spring ensemble which included her little yellow rain boots. (I love how nothing in the outfit matches except for the two boots.)

Using good old fashion floral wire, I just threaded it through the loops of the boots and then wired them to the wreath.

A pretty green burlap bow was then added to finish it off!

Don't those bright yellow boots really make the entire wreath pop?

I think Moe likes it too!
Happy Spring everyone, and have a great weekend!!!

XO

  4. Barbara, I love the wreath and what a great idea. I have a pair of old pink poka dot boots that I was going to do something with so maybe instead of planting flowers in them I will put them in a wreath.
Happy Spring and your wreath really looks so Spring.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  8. You are so creative! This would've made a great post for the Spring Blog Hop party coming up too. I've never seen little rain boots used in a wreath but I'll bet you'll be starting the newest craze after people see this idea. I need to spruce up my front porch for Spring too.

  10. HOW cute is this!? I will definitely have to keep my eyes open for some of these at the thrift stores -- my kids are long grown now so we don't have any around the house!

  15. Barbara, your wreath is such an eye-catcher. What a playful way to greet your guests. I love the colors and I especially love the use of the rainboots. It welcomes you to come in and "play" or reminds me of days gone by where neighbors and friends gathered on the front porch for something to drink while watching the Spring rain fall. I can smell the fresh, earthy smell and the cool breeze. So delightful, especially hung on a white door.
