Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad
As far
as sleeping outdoors, Klymit has introduced a lot of groundbreaking
technologies over the years, which goes hand in hand with their business model
of challenging traditional approaches. They say they’re part gear junkies, part
engineers, part mad scientists, all gathered under the idea of enhancing the
experiences of outdoor enthusiasts.
Here’s what they say about their V
sleeping pad
They stress
that it’s very lightweight and features “body mapping technology”. Body mapping
is a technique in sleeping pads manufacturing designed to adjust to your body’s
pressure points for optimal support, comfort, and warmth. It was first
introduced in 2010 with their Inertia model, and backpackers all around the
world praise it very highly.
V-shaped
chambers are there for limiting air movement (thus preventing heat loss) and
unique ergonomic optimized for comfort and performance. They say it takes
around 10 to 15 breaths to fully inflate it, which saves energy and time.
It’s
very compact when packed, about the size of a water bottle. It also features
dynamic side rails that’ll keep you firmly on the pad throughout the night.
It’s made with hammock, cot, or ground sleeping in mind.
-------------------
My initial impression of the Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad was that it is incredibly compact which makes it really easy to transport. Literally, like they say, it is not much larger than my water bottle and probably weighs less than the bottle if completely filled. My 11 year son, Michael, was the first to give the sleeping pad a test drive. According to Michael it took him about a minute to fully inflate the pad. He then used the lightweight sleeping pad on his bedroom floor for several nights and said it was very comfortable with plenty of padding. And as far as durability, if it can survive Michael, well it can certainly survive just about anything!
Mr. Rosemary Lane and myself also tried the pad for extended periods of time, although not overnight like Michael, and found it quite comfy. And for Mr. RL, the pad was definitely long enough to fit his 6 foot frame. We can't wait to try it in the outdoors to test its comfortability along with experiencing how much warmth it retains from our own body heat. Overall I think this will be a great addition to my husband and son's camping gear. We may just need to order another one!
Wishing you all a great start to your week and to 2016!
XO

Barbara, Michael looks so tall. He is really growing up. I might check out this pad. When the kids come up we only have one guest bed so it would be great for Jake as he just usually sleeps on the sofa..Happy New Year..Judy
ReplyDeleteI, too, have grandsons & this would be a great alternative to them sleeping (& kicking) together in our guest bedroom or family room. Great idea! Might I ask where I could purchase them?
