Sometimes it can take me forever to decide on how to decorate my mantle. The problem for me is that the mantel is rather narrow so I am limited as far as what I can put on it. My plan is that at some point Mr. Rosemary Lane will replace it with a much more substantial one, but as of today this is what I have to work with. Using items I already had in the house...here is what I came up with for Christmas 2011!!!
Since the mantle is narrow I placed all my decorations with the exception of the Christmas balls, on the mantle first. Then with fresh greens I snipped from the trees in my yard, I carefully layered them on to the mantle. Then I wired the Christmas balls to a few of the larger branches to keep them secure. I used all silver on the mantel itself and then I put a gold wreath above and gold beads below as accents.
I am pretty happy with this year's arrangement...it looks so lovely in the evening with the fireplace going and the candles lit. We will definitely enjoy spending time in our living room watching all those Christmas specials and movies this season!
Merry Christmas!
