It's a Holly Jolly Dining Room!

Oh I love a holiday table don't you? The traditional Christmas colors are typically my favorite but a little bit of sparkle or bling can turn any color scheme into a beautifully festive place for a holiday feast!

This year I am using my new black and white rooster plates and paring them with these wonderful quilted place mates I purchased at the end of last season. Then I folded my napkins and tucked them underneath the salad plates.

Here I simply tossed fresh cranberries into two candle globes and sprinkled them with some Epsom salts to create the look of snow on fresh berries.

The table runner was a little Pottery Barn splurge. I really don't do that very often but I was in love with the runner the moment I laid eyes on it!!!

Some fresh pine branches were added to the chandy and the boxwood topiaries flank each candle globe. To see how the boxwood topiaries were made, click here.

You better watch out, you better not cry and you better be good because Santa is watching from atop the breakfront!!!

I reorganized the items in the breakfront and edited out everything but the white ironstone and silver. I turned off the light and opened the doors so you can see better what I did.

And now we are all ready for some holiday company!

The best of the season you all!!

  22. Dearest Barbara,
Found your blog at A Lapin Life; at Dee's. The introduction and reading that you adopted two children made me hit the follow button in a hurry. We do have a foster-daughter from Indonesia who was deaf and we provided for her the funds for college and university and than an Oticon hearing aid. It made me cry when we could for the first time talk over the phone... How much other people take for granted! We also have an adopted daughter from British Columbia, she is part Scottish/Dutch/Indian and very exotic looking. They are like our own. Love the way you used your cranberries here and also the place mats.
    Enjoy this 3rd Advent week.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
