Well the process has begun. The primer and paint have been purchased; the room has been cleared; the breakfront was unloaded; the cobwebs were wiped away, and now the only think left is to wash down the walls and do whatever patching needs to be done!
Can you tell I am both excited and nervous at the same time. We have had this red dining room since March of 2003...almost 11 years, and now I am doing something so completely different it makes me a wee bit scared! No correct that...a lot bit scared!!!
So far so good with Mr. Rosemary Lane...he hasn't really complained at all about loosing the red room that he loves so much. I think he may be ready for a change as well in this room.
Although the red was nice for the holidays!
Gosh can you believe that all came out of my hutch and breakfront? Geeze oh man I have a lot of weeding through to do before I load that puppy up again!
So the commitment has been made and now it is time to follow it through! I have a gallon of primer and a gallon of color...both from Benjamin Moore. I am hoping this will be enough to cover over the red. Still undecided about what I am doing below the chair rail...to keep it Boothbay or to go with the Bone color I plan to use on the trim.
I suppose I will have a better idea of which way to go once I start rolling on the new color. As for right now I am going to wash down the walls and then I plan to grab a little lunch!
Ciao 4 Now!!!
XO
With your dark furniture, your room will be lovely with that color. And, even bigger!
ReplyDeleteI think it is going to be lovely...you will see that everything will look brand new too when you are done.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be very pretty and I'm sure you will come up with tons of different ways to decorate for the holidays. But I know, it's like losing an old friend. Hang in there!

I love the gray! It looks wonderful in the can and I bet it's going to look fantastic on the wall. I predict...you will be so happy you took the plunge. Will check back to see the beautiful result!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the "after" pictures. One of my daughters painted her living/dining room gray and it looks great.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara: Can't wait to see the transformation. No matter what you decide for under the chair rail, it will all be so gorgeous. I've been missing a lot of your posts. I subscribed to Feed Burner to receive e-mails when you put one out but it is not working for most (not all) of my follows. Can't seem to find out why but anyway going to catch up now with what I missed..Happy Halloween, Judy
ReplyDeleteOh, I think it will really open up the room. Beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Boothbay Maine! This is going to be lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love Benjamin Moore paints. I have just finished painting my dining room Benjamin Moore's (Guilford Green) and am now in the process of sorting, donating and rearranging my china cabinet and buffet. It is a job.
