I love to decorate, and even more so, I love to decorate for Christmas. Each year I can't wait to bring out all of my little Christmas goodies and place them around the house. And in order to make room for my decorations, I find myself scooping up various family pictures and relegating them to the bedroom for safe keeping until the holidays are over. Well the other day while rummaging through the attic to find my Christmas decorations, I came upon a box of old framed pictures I hadn't looked at in years. This got me thinking, I know it can be dangerous when I put on my thinking cap, but my idea was to display some of my pictures on the holiday centerpiece of the living room...now this may sound odd but I thought...why not use them to decorate my Christmas tree!
So with a little help from some trusty floral wire, I wired up the old and new pictures to the tree!
I also hung a few frames without pictures...
This next picture is a formal portrait of my grandmother...it was probably taken about 95 years ago! My mother swears I am my grandmother all over again!!!
Ahhh there I am with one of my best friend's son on his 1st birthday...gosh where has the time gone? He will be 15 in just a couple months!!!
The picture below is of my parents at my brother's wedding in 1996!
Another twist on this idea would be to punch a hole in your Christmas Cards and then thread ribbon or raffia through and tie them to your tree!
This is such a fun as well as a nostalgic way to display family pictures. It really does make the Christmas tree into quite the conversation piece!
Christmas blessings!
