Today as I watched cyclist Alexandre Vinokourov of Kazakhstan win the gold medal in the distance race, I started thinking to myself what can I do to help my family celebrate this amazing event. Well you know how much I like to cook so what I've decided is to find and make different ethnic recipes over the next two weeks and share them with all of you. Some of these recipes may be ones I have made in the past and have not posted, while others will be completely new to me.
So for today I am starting with France. I found this wonderful recipe for a French candy called Orangettes which blends together two of my favorite flavors of orange and dark chocolate. But, here's the twist, the orange part is actually the orange peel! There are a few steps to removing the bitterness of the peel and replacing it with sweetness that I will be showing you. I have them in the pot right now so hopefully my next post will be letting you know if these are a yuck or yum. Keeping my fingers crossed they are a yum!!!
Do you have any wonderful family or heritage related recipes you'd like to share???
I'd love to hear from you.
Have a great day and enjoy those games!!!
You are so creative my dear! Can't wait to see everything you come up with over the next two weeks!
