Handmade First Communion Invitations with Tutorial

This year for Michael's First Holy Communion I decided to make the invitations myself. Now mind you I had no idea what I was doing. To be honest I didn't really find many tutorials that were very helpful. So I was left with having to wing it! I did buy a new paper trimmer and one of Martha Stewart's "Punch Around the Page" gadgets which happened to be 40% off at Michael's Craft store today.

You will also need something like these beautiful cross stickers I found at Wal-Mart. But be advised they are hard to find this time of year so you will have to really keep your eyes peeled!

First I printed off my invitation on the white card stock...I was able to fit two horizontally on one page.

Then I cut the white printed card to the size of 8 inches by 3 inches. The outer blue paper was cut to 9 inches by 4 inches. This size will fit easily into a standard business size envelope.

I trimmed the outer blue and printed white paper corners using Martha's gadget.

I also cut a small 2 3/4 inch by 1 3/4 inch blue paper and again clipped the corners with Martha's tool.

After that it was just a matter of assembling each card using the glue stick and adding the cross as a final touch!

Have a great Day!!!
