The Mansion in May event is held every 2 years as a fundraiser for a local hospital in Morristown New Jersey. From May 1st through May 31, guests are invited to tour this historic mansion featuring design inspirations from 60 of the area's top interior and landscape designers who have donated their work in support of a hospital cause. This year the beautiful and Glynallyn Castle was chosen as the designer's home.
Although the tour included both the inside and outside of this gorgeous Tudor style castle, photography was only allowed outside of the building, so I am going to take you for a stroll through the fabulous gardens of Glynallyn.
Glynallyn is a 3-story, 32,000 square-foot castle built as a country estate by George Marshall Allen from 1913-1917. The building boast 60 + rooms and cost an estimated $500,000 to build including $15,000 for the stained glass windows in the Great Hall of the castle. In 1987 Glynallyn was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The mansion is currently on the Real Estate market for a cool 5.7 million!
Any takers???
