Ten Fabu Office Ideas and What I Already Have for My Own Office Redo

So as you may or may not know my wonderful hubby is letting me use his office for all of my bloggy work. Up to this point I basically have been working from the kitchen island, which does bode pretty well for me since a lot of what I post are recipes. But to have a space to inspire me creatively, well that's something really special!
I've been working my way through several decorating magazines and catalogs, along with poking around the Internet, for ideas which I believe will work both for me and the space I will be in. Here's some of what I've found...

I think you can see where I am going with this. I need loads of storage, not only for all of my stuff but for all of the regular office items we use everyday to run our home. I also want a clean and bright space to work in. I simply can't wait I am so excited to get started. I've already eyed up the Ikea storage cubbies in the kid's playroom which they've been using to store (toss) old books and toys they don't read or play with any more.

And I have a beautiful gentleman's dresser with 6 drawers of crap I need to empty out. I can use it for storing some of my linen's which are currently in bags on the floor.

Don't forget about the desk I've had sitting in the garage for the past 2 years! She's pretty beat up but I have an idea that I think will bring out her inner beauty.

I know I have a few more goodies lying around that I can upcycle and recyle...and there are probably items I haven't even thought about using yet too. Remember I am doing this project on one thin little dime. Like my friend Dee Dee over at d dzine has said, "...the tighter the budget the more creative the end result."

Have a great day !

  8. I love how the second photo looks and I might just try to recreate this with my own office. It gives off a very “countryside” feel to it while keeping a sophisticated, business oriented place. The desks surrounding the working area is convenient because whenever you need to look for some files, all you need to do is give it a little kick and search through the cabinets right away. Thank you for this wonderful ideas! :)

  9. Great ideas you have there, and you are right about recycling items that can still be used in your space. That way, you do not have to spend more than the budget you set.
