Even though I grew up right next door to the Garden State, the one thing I never realized is how many little towns there are here containing amazing old homes built before the turn of the last century. You know homes with big ol' wrap around porches, the kind you can spend an entire afternoon on just relaxing and watching the passers by. Well one little town near me has really captured the fabulous spirit of fall in the adornment of their beautiful front and side porches. So find a comfy spot, poor yourself a large caramel pumpkin latte, cozy up with your laptop, and take a peak at some of the wonderfully creative fall porches of Califon N.J..
(For the yummy latte recipe, click here.)
Thank goodness I had my 200 mm zoom lens with me so I could get the nice closeup shots of some of these porches.
How about this next porch for Halloween?
Aren't these homes just stunning? As you probably noticed as per the title of this post, these porches are located primarily in the town of Califon New Jersey, and the surrounding areas. I so enjoyed walking down the streets of these neighborhoods snapping pictures of all the gorgeous homes with their wonderful porches all decked out for the fall.
Someday I want to own a home like one of these and decorate my ginormous porch until my little heart's content.

I want to drive through this town, Barbara, such beautiful homes and decorated so nicely. I hope they did not get too much damage from Sandy. Hope you and your family are OK. I lost power last night but it came back on at 6 AM. xo
ReplyDeleteEach place is more gorgeous than the next! What a wonderful tour! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI'm not a jealous person until I see an great old house! LOL! You and me both....had a few in my day but all gone now and I'm living in a ranch house...how boring! But I'm blessed to be a homeowner and and it's all paid for so I just need to decorate more to cover up its "ranchness". LOL! Thanks for the gorgeous pictures and is that your "little Gracie on your banner" that is the little toddler princess on the side? What a cutie she is both then and now. Thanks again for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful homes, Barbara! It would be impossible to pick a favorite. I would love to have a wrap around porch, too, I think it's a girl thing!
ReplyDeleteHave a great fall day and thanks for the pictures!
XO,
Jane
Hello Barbara, What a treat, so many beautiful houses with wrap around porches. I saw a few of this style of house when I visited Atlanta a few years ago and absolutely loved them. Thank you for a lovely treat.....oh yes by the way, I did drink a cup of coffee whilst enjoying your photos. Best Wishes Daphne

Barbara, thanks so much for sharing these fabulous porches all decked out and the gorgeous homes!!!! I love porches, and we had a great one in the old house but NO porch now:( I miss it. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeletePopped over here from Savvy Southern Style and could live in any of these charming homes! Hoping they are all still standing. Thoughts to you in NJ.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara. What beautiful homes. Don't you just love "peeping" at them and wouldn't it be fun to go inside? Since you wrote this today I assume you are not too worse for wear from the storm. We have been watching and the devastation at the shore and NY is overwhelming. There aren't too many things worse than a natural disaster..Keep safe..Hope your kids have a great Halloween..Judy
ReplyDeleteLoved the Autumn porches.

Hi Barbara, we were supposed to be catching the train up to N.J. early in the morning to visit my son but this devastating storm has messed up our plans...actually no train running. My son is fine but not so much his property. Hopefully we can go soon to help him. The homes you showed are absolutely fantastic. I hope they are all okay. I know the homeowners won't think so, but I loved all the beautiful fallen leaves in the yards. Great post and Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWow, there is a TON of inspiration in those photos! What a fun time you must have had on that walk. I'd love to spend an afternoon hanging out on each of them, even that scary one!

Lovely stuff. Being in New Jersey I trust those homes are still standing. Sending love from the Northern Beaches of Sydney Australia and visiting via Feathered Nest Friday.

ReplyDeleteThere is another darling little town called Zionsville, INDIANA that these homes reminded me of.
If you ever get up around Indianapolis, IN..it's just North of there.
